Internet Marketing For Chickens
Are you afraid to succeed? Did you get into internet marketing because it?s easy to fail at, and that is where your comfort zone lies? Great! You are just the person I want to speak to today. It?s important that you pay attention, otherwise you will end up getting exactly what you are heading towards. And that isn’t really what you want, is it?
Look. You need to man up for crying out loud. Quit being so wishy-washy. Don’t think that I don’t get it. I know just what?s going on in your mind. You are afraid to commit, aren’t you. You just want to dabble a bit in internet marketing and if that dabbling pays off big-time you will dip more than just your foot in. Well, I got news for you: Your dabbling is going to fail, so you may as well watch reality TV instead.
Fortune favors the bold. This is especially true in business ventures. You need to treat your online marketing efforts as a business, because that?s exactly what this is. Don?t even get started in this endeavor unless you are fully committed to making it work for you. Be prepared to give up your favorite shows and abandon your local sports teams.
A committed marketer understands that you cannot spend your time building a referral business for something that might not be there tomorrow. That means you only pick the most stable, solid, committed affiliate programs to promote. Since you are getting serious, you partners had better be at least as serious. A chicken, by contrast, trusts that everybody will always be there and consequently tends to get sucked in by any sales page which looks good that day.
Your ultimate goal is not to be somebody else?s salesman. You should be the one hiring salemen. But it pays to be the salesman for a while, because you can see things from that end of the spectrum - and when you become the business owner, you will know how to attract and keep salesmen better. There is no easier profession from which to go from salesman to business owner than internet marketing.
A classic example is when you first start building websites. Most likely you are going to build cheesy little mini-sites. Take my advice and don’t bother with these. Spend you time working on a big-site idea, and follow through with it. The only time cheesy mini-sites make sense is when you build a zillion of them - and even then you would be better off building a relly big site.
On the other hand, all this takes work. You might have to miss the baseball games and/or get up early before work to build your infrastructure. That?s not something a chicken would do. A chicken dabbles and pecks at seeds in the ground. If that?s all you want to do, never mind this article.
